Dock Dogs

We went fishing at Urunga, but we didn’t catch anything unfortunately.

We played dock dogs which is where we throw a stick into the water and see which dog can jump the furtherest.  Of course Tess won every time because Asta would only fall in and go under water and Lassie would do some silly little boingy, splashy thing and only just land in the water, and Sparkie did not want to swim.

We had a swim too!  It was cold but fun.

Sunset

Lassie and Sambo have mated for the third time now! So excited!!! Beautiful sunset too plus we are near a lake so we can go fishing and swimming tomorrow! The lake is the old reservoir for the town water supply from the 1880’s.  Water was always in short supply until the pipeline from Nyngan was finished in the 1960s. Today the “Old Res” is used for recreation.

Tomorrow we plan a walk to Devil’s Rock about 1km from where we are camped.  Will try and get some photo’s to put up.

Victoria

Went for a swim with the dogs. Even Gyvie had a dip and then we played Frisbee. Tess won. Woohoo! All and all a great day.

On the Road Again

I think it’s great to be on the road again, which you’ll probably be able to tell by the photos. Sadly we had to leave Germein behind because there was no RSPCA’s in the area. We left her a bowl of food and a bowl of water. Gyvie was quite pleased that she didn’t come!

Cat

This morning I was on the back bed I glanced up out the window and saw a tortoiseshell cat. I ran outside and called her. At first she was a little scared, but then she came over and rubbed on me.  I picked her up and took her back to camp.  We gave her some food and water.  Then I decided I like her less and less after she attacked Gyvie three times and had a swipe at Sparkie and Tess and pooed on Chantel!  We are definitely NOT keeping her despite having named her Germein because we found her between Port Perie and Port Germein.  We will probably be taking her to the RSPCA in the morning.  I feel sorry for Gyvie, he was totally freaked out when we brought him inside.

Rock attack

After we went for a swim, we drove to our campsite on the side of the road. Pretty soon, everybody fell asleep. I don’t really know what happened next, but suddenly I was wide awake with my hands under my pillow fumbling for my torch. There was crashing and banging sounds coming from the kitchen. I grabbed my torch and leapt out of bed. I slowly walked up to where the noise had been coming from. I didn’t notice it then, but it was actually a lot cooler and the wind was blowing in my face. I went up to the front of the bus and saw strange white things falling on the floor. It looked like salt! Mummy told me to come back up between the bunks. She’d instantly realized what had happened. She said the windows had been smashed. With what, I thought, hail? No, or we’d still hear it on the roof. Maybe someone broke them, on purpose like? Nah, that’s too movie-ish. But sure enough, someone had smashed them with a couple of rocks. Sloppy job, because we saw footprints and scuffmarks of where they’d been thrown. Mummy and Daddy had to clean up the mess that night while I tried to get some sleep. The accident happened – or rather, the “on-purpose” happened – at 3 o’clock in the morning. Tess was freaked so I called her up to sleep with me. I lay very still and tried to go to sleep, but it was impossible! After being awake for two hours, it was starting to get light. Chana woke up, so I told her what had happened – amazingly, she slept through the whole thing! Only me, Jasmine, Mummy, Daddy, and Chantel had actually woken up. So all in all, a pretty annoying and confusing night. Oh, and did I mention, the police were involved as well. Poor Daddy, sounded so unprofessional. Hoping to get more sleep tonight!
